Charlotte writes drama for stage, screen, radio and online.
Charlotte regularly writes for the BBC and her work has been performed on the London stage, from The Criterion Theatre, Piccadilly, to The Roundhouse.
Many of her projects champion those fighting injustice, the ordinary person driven to achieve extraordinary things. Charlotte loves collaborating with other artists, musicians, filmmakers, actors, dancers, sound designers and scientists to find exciting ways to tell stories and innovative ways to connect with audiences.
Charlotte was invited to be part of The Young Vic’s inaugural Writer/ Director Speed Dating Programme, chosen to be part of The Criterion Theatre’s New Writing Programme and then invited back for their Story Development Programme led by Greg Mosse. She was selected as one of Jerwood Arvon Foundation’s Mentored Playwrights and been nominated for a BBC Drama Award.
In the past, Charlotte co- founded and ran The Script Factory with Lucy Scher, Briony Hanson and Justine Hart. She has served on the film Board of The British Council, Scottish Screen and BAFTA. She was chair of BAFTA’s Education and Events Committee, and has chaired the BAFTA Award’s judging panels for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Short Film and Best Costume Design.
Alongside Dan Smith, lead singer of Bastille, Charlotte runs DISTRACTION TACTICS, where she is The Resident Film Expert. Distraction Tactics is a weekly online club, which regularly engages with an audience of between twenty to sixty thousand cine-philes from around the world.
Charlotte combines her writing career, with that of a public speaker. She has been interviewed on the BBC, and speaks at film festivals and events around the world. She regularly hosts and chairs panel discussions, talks and workshops.
